The Department of Anesthesia, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, is a clinical department integrating medical treatment, education, and research. We have a large and powerful professional team, mainly responsible for oral and maxillofacial surgery anesthesia, resuscitation and critical monitoring treatment, pain diagnosis and treatment, emergency first aid, oral comfort treatment, etc.
Clinic
The clinical work scope of the Oral Anesthesiology Department includes anesthesia, postoperative recovery and pain treatment for patients who need oral and maxillofacial surgery, implant surgery under sedation and analgesia, painless tooth extraction, monitored tooth extraction, comfortable dental treatment for children, cosmetic surgery under sedation and analgesia, and other comfortable treatment, emergency first aid, etc. Proficient in handling various difficult airways, emergency first aid for critically ill patients, and anesthesia management for elderly patients and infants.
Education
Oral anesthesia is one of the subspecialties of anesthesia training in China. The trainees include graduate students, residents and continuing physicians. Our department will regularly carry out small lectures, case discussion and bedside teaching, focusing on training students to recognize and deal with difficult airways, and master the perioperative anesthesia management of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Research
The main research directions of our department include multimodal analgesia guided by the MDT team, pain diagnosis and treatment under ultrasound guidance, etc. Funded by a number of fund projects, the anesthesiologists of our department participated in these researches.
