The Department of Clinical Laboratory, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, founded in 1965, is a comprehensive laboratory integrating clinical services, teaching and scientific research. Located in Area A on the 2nd floor of outpatient service building, the department possesses 200 m2 lab space.

Our department focuses on the diagnostics of stomatological diseases and has five technical groups including pre-analytic sample processing, common lab tests, biochemistry, immunology and blood bank. Our laboratory is equipped with the following automated instruments: Hematology Analyzer, Coagulation Analyzer, Biochemical Analyzer, Specific Protein Analyzer, Flow Cytometry, Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer, Blood Group Analyzer etc., and can provide common lab tests for blood and body fluids, biochemical analyses, biomarker detections for infectious diseases, coagulation function analyses, blood group identification, evaluation of humoral and cellular immunity, as well as autoimmunity.

Our department has a high-quality and high-efficiency professional team, including 66% of intermediate technicians, 33% of laboratory physicians, with half of them having a master degree. "Timely and accurate services of high quality; Striving for Excellence" is our motto. Holding the highest standard of clinical quality management, we have achieved excellent results in the national external quality assessment every year.

With high quality, our department provides high-quality and enthusiastic clinical services for patients with oral diseases in Sichuan and Southwest China. The Department of Clinical Laboratory is not only an important research facility for auxiliary diagnosis of oral complex cases and saliva studies, but also a clinical laboratory for oral drug development and medical device evaluation, providing accurate experimental data for clinical diagnosis, treatment and scientific research.
