Dept. of Radiology
As one of the pioneering departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in China, this department is renowned for its excellence in radiological diagnostics, dental education, and scientific research.

Clinical Services
Staffed by board-certified professional radiologists, the department provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and consultation services. We utilize state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including periapical and panoramic radiographs, cephalometric radiography, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography, and salivary gland imaging, to ensure precise and reliable diagnostic outcomes.

Education
Oral and maxillofacial imaging diagnostics are integral to the core curriculum for stomatology majors, focusing on the imaging study of oral and maxillofacial diseases. We offer extensive education programs for medical students, interns, postgraduates, residents, radiologists, technicians, and nurses. Our dedicated faculty members are committed to advancing imaging education through the development of national textbooks, curriculum reform, and the enhancement of practical skills. The department emphasizes the imaging diagnosis of a wide array of oral and maxillofacial conditions, including endodontic and periodontal diseases, jaw bone trauma and inflammation, cysts and tumors of the jaw bone, salivary gland diseases, and temporomandibular joint disorders.

Research
Our research programs encompass innovative applications of ionizing radiation, such as using graphene as the cathode in dental X-ray tubes, as well as the integration of deep learning and artificial intelligence in dental radiography. The research team actively engages in numerous scientific projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and key research and development initiatives in Sichuan Province. Our research endeavors have garnered widespread recognition for their value and innovation, resulting in over ten national patents and proprietary intellectual property rights.
