With recent advances in orthodontic materials and innovations built into orthodontic appliances, the clear aligner is gaining popularity among both practitioners and patients. Clear aligner appeals to patients not only for esthetics and comfort, but also for its precise designs of 3D final tooth positions. Our department has pioneered clear aligner therapy in this country for one decade and has been leading this new technique throughout the world. The experts in our department have been invited to disseminate expertise on clear aligner therapy in many dental conferences. Moreover, our department has won international clear aligner research awards many times and has been conducting both basic and clinical research on clear aligner therapy. So far, our department has led to writing a monograph on clear aligner therapy and published articles demonstrating the clinical effects of clear aligner therapy.
