Regenerative Endodontics

Regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) is a treatment strategy for immature permanent teeth (existing open apices) with pulp infection and even necrosis. The thorough and effective root canal disinfection and the preservation of activity of stem cells derived from dental pulp and apical papilla are crucial, for these procedures could provide a better environment for stem cell proliferation and differentiation, ultimately contributing to the root maturation. In some cases, dental pulp-like tissue regeneration has been generated by the combined application of bioactive materials and stem cells.
