Biography
Zhu Songsong, DMD/PhD, Vice Dean of West China School and Hospital of Stomatology and Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He took his DMD from Zhejiang University in 2001, and obtained the PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Sichuan University in 2006. He completed residency and Chief Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Fellowship in Orthognathic and TMJ Surgery in 2006, all at West China Hospital of Stomatology, Chengdu. He was a Visiting Scholar from 2012-2013 in Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, at School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, USA.
Prof. Zhu is the President of the Chinese Society of TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders) & Occlusion, Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA) and the Committee Member of the Chinese Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, CSA.
Prof. Zhu’s clinical interests focus on minimally invasive TMJ surgeries, orthognathic surgerires and distraction osteogenesis (DO). And his research concentrates on elucidating the molecular basis of TMJ osteoarthritis (OA) and the role of TMJ fibrocartilage stem cells (FCSCs) in TMJ developpment and damage repair. He also focuses on the innovative product research in the TMJ surgical field.
