On June 28-30, 2024, the WCSS-KCL-QMUL Joint Symposium on Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Science, co-sponsored by the West China School of Stomatology (WCSS), Sichuan University, King's College London (KCL), and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), was successfully held in our school.
The symposium was chaired by Prof. Ling Ye, Vice President of Sichuan University, Prof. Sanjukta Deb, Dean for International, Engagement & Service in KCL, and Prof. Nikolaos Donos, Director of Research, Director of the Centre for Oral Clinical Research at the Institute of Dentistry, Barts & London School of Medicine and Dentistry. They respectively gave speeches at the opening ceremony. 17 renowned experts and scholars from China and the UK delivered keynote speeches centered on the frontiers of dentistry, with attention to the new oral biomaterials, oral clinical innovation, oral and systemic health, oral regenerative medicine, and so on.
During the symposium, Prof. Jing Tan, Party Secretary of WCSS, engaged in detailed discussions with experts and scholars from the British side, hoping that the three sides would carry out more in-depth cooperation in talent training, academic exchanges, scientific research, and other pertinent aspects in the future.
The relevant departments held activities such as research project exchange meetings, British postgraduate education in dentistry, clinical joint symposiums, and lectures on the promotion of academic journals. British experts also visited the West China Museum of Stomatology, the State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases, and the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
