WCHS Launches Series Activities for World Oral Health Day
Mar. 20 2025

On the occasion of the 19th World Oral Health Day on March 20, West China Hospital of Stomatology, leveraging its role as a National Center for Stomatology, organized a series of innovative oral health activities under the theme "A HAPPY MOUTH IS…a happy mind" for 2025. These activities aimed to deliver high-quality dental care resources directly to communities through multifaceted approaches.

Our hospital mobilized a team of expert clinicians and Party members to conduct outreach programs in residential communities and schools. Activities included public health lectures, free oral check-ups, and donations of oral health educational materials, significantly raising public awareness and improving community dental health literacy. Simultaneously, our hospital pioneered an Internet plus Oral Health model, collaborating with platforms like Chuanguan News and Sichuan Internet General Hospital to provide remote consultations and multimedia health education, transcending geographical barriers to ensure broader accessibility.

Special attention was given to vulnerable groups. Customized dental care plans were developed for over 100 children at Chengdu Special Education School, embodying the "whole-life-cycle oral health management" philosophy to safeguard children’s development. We also utilized our oral health education museum to launch immersive educational experiences, featuring interactive exhibitions and science demonstrations for institutions like Huaxi Kindergarten, blending learning with entertainment.

The campaign achieved remarkable outreach: over 10,000 individuals received on-site services, 5,000 educational booklets were distributed, and live-streamed sessions reached an audience exceeding 100,000 online. These efforts underscored the institution’s commitment as a national medical center to advance public health. Moving forward, WCHS pledges to deepen our commitment to placing people's health at the center, aiming to promote the development of an oral health service system that covers all populations and spans the whole life cycle through advancing technological, model and service innovations, thereby contributing the wisdom and strength of national-level institutions to the Healthy China initiative.
