
The 2025 International Symposium on Innovation and Future of Dental Education was held on November 14-15 in Chengdu. The symposium was chaired by Professor Ye Ling, Vice President of Sichuan University. Professor Yu Guangyan, Honorary President of the Chinese Stomatological Association, and Professor Guo Chuanbin, President of the Association, were invited to attend the opening ceremony and deliver speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Han Xianglong, Dean of WCSS.


The symposium featured keynote presentations from 10 leading experts in dental education: Professor Michael Escudier, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, King's College London; Professor Lijian Jin, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong; Professor Mutlu Özcan, Director of the Dental Medicine Center, University of Zurich; Professor Young-Seok Park, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Seoul National University; Professor Paul Cooper, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Otago; Professor Lisa Rinanda Amir, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia; Professor Guang Hong, Assistant Dean of the School of Dentistry, Tohoku University; Professor Chun Hung Chu, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong; Professor Peter Mei, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Otago. Prof. Citra Kusumasari, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia; Prof. Aryo Megantoro, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia also attend the meeting. The experts held in-depth discussions on a range of topics, including: "Al-driven restructuring of dental medicine teaching scenarios" "Cross-border digital-intelligent collaboration pathways in global dental education", and "The restructuring of knowledge chains in dental medicine textbooks in the digital-intelligent era".

The symposium provided a key platform for global exchange. Looking ahead, the School will continue to collaborate with global partners to advance the innovative development of dental education and contribute to cultivating outstanding dental professionals for the new era.
