A research article published in the Journal of Dental Research in 2025 by a team from the West China School of Stomatology (WCSS), Sichuan University, titled DNMTi@ZIF-8 Enhances Biomimetic Pulp Regeneration via Epigenetic Regulation, has received the IADR/AADOCR JDR Cover of the Year Award.

The award-winning study developed a biomimetic regenerative strategy integrating DNMTi@ZIF-8 with DPSC spheroids. By mimicking key mechanisms of tooth development, the study significantly promoted odontoblastic differentiation and angiogenesis, providing important theoretical support and practical guidance for functional pulp regeneration. The co-corresponding authors of the paper are Professor Ling Ye and Professor Liwei Zheng of the West China School of Stomatology, and the first authors are Associate Professor Mian Wan and Dr. Ziyu Li.

Jointly presented by the IADR and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR), the JDR Cover of the Year Award recognizes outstanding papers published in the Journal of Dental Research that demonstrate both scientific excellence and visual impact. The award represents prestigious international recognition of both the academic value and presentation quality of research achievements in dental, oral, and craniofacial sciences.
