On May 11, 2026, medical staff from WCSS, on aid missions in São Tomé and Príncipe, carried out a medical exchange with the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde, the nation’s only higher medical institution. teamed up with the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde, the nation’s sole higher medical institution. The event featured academic sessions, nursing skills training and multidisciplinary free medical consultations, and was broadcast live by local TVS.

Liu Fan, Director of our Nursing Department, delivered a video message extending holiday greetings. Nurse Guo Zhi conducted practical training with standard demonstrations, while physician Huang Bo provided one-on-one consultations and shared clinical expertise tailored to local health conditions. Institute President Mário praised the Chinese medical team’s efforts and expressed hopes for long-term, regular cooperation. 

The exchange coincided with the 50th anniversary of Sichuan's medical aid to Africa and the 115th International Nurses Day. WCSS will continue to leverage its professional strengths to advance the global health community, consolidate China-Africa friendship and safeguard public health across the continent.
