On September 13, 2026, the Academic Seminar of Periodontology was successfully held at WCSS, focusing on evidence, innovation, and academic responsibility.

Prof. Effie Ioannidou from the University of California, San Francisco, discussed AI-era academic integrity and publishing; Prof. George Pelekos from the University of Hong Kong covered soft tissue management around teeth and implants in periodontitis patients; and Prof. Ke Deng from the University of Hong Kong presented advances in periodontal diagnosis and treatment.

By linking clinical controversies, technological innovation, and academic ethics, the seminar broadened participants’ perspectives and offered valuable guidance for translating scientific knowledge into responsible clinical practice.
