From August 28th to 30th, 2019, the “2019 National Teaching Skills Competition of Young Teachers from Schools of Dentistry” sponsored by the Professional Committee of Stomatology Education of the Chinese Stomatological Association was held in Shanghai. Liu Jiyuan from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery participated in the competition on behalf of our school. By integrating interpretations with intuitive animations and active teacher-student interactions, Dr. Liu fully aroused the enthusiasm of the class and demonstated mechanics of tooth extraction in a simple way. After a fierce competition in teaching plans, preliminary and final on-site teaching, Dr. Liu finally won the first place in “2019 National Teaching Skills Competition of Young Teachers from Schools of Dentistry” and was awarded the honorary title of Excellent Skilled Teacher.

This competition displayed the excellence of our young teachers, and reflected the deep accumulation and the well-development of education in West China School of Stomatology. In the future, our school will continuously comply with the spirit of the National Education Congress, focus on undergraduate education, and further improve the teaching capacity of our teachers and the quality of talent training.
