A summit forum on standardized resident training was held by the Chinese Medical Doctors Association from August 31 to September 2 in 2018 in Beijing. Outstanding trainers from resident training bases throughout the country were selected and commended during this forum. Professor Hua Chengge was awarded the Excellent Tutor Teacher of 2018.

Professor Hua graduated from West China School of Stomatology in 1993 and had been working in clinical, teaching, and scientific research fields from then on with outstanding achievements made. He established the clinical training system of oral and maxillofacial surgery and general dentistry by holding several provincial and university’s educational projects. Awards from Sichuan University were presented to Professor Hua for years.

Professor Hua was selected as the first batch of resident training teachers when West China Hospital of Stomatology was approved as the standardized training base for dental specialists by the Ministry of Health in 2007. After full implementation of standardization resident training programs in 2014, he participated in different Sichuan and national training programs as the instructor. Professor Hua currently holds the position of vice director of medical education after the graduation office of Sichuan province. At the same time, Professor Hua had participated in the supervision and inspection group of national resident training bases in Sichuan province many times as an expert and had made a positive contribution to the standardized resident training.
