In an active response to the requirements of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents in the new era of the country, and to stimulate students' interest in scientific research and enlighten their innovative consciousness, on November 23, 2024, in the Hart College (No.4 Teaching Building) at West China Campus of Sichuan University, West China School of Stomatology (WCSS) conducted a unique activity themed 'Face to Face with Master', which belongs to the series of activities of the characteristic "Five-Leading" education system- "Master Navigation". The invited speaker for this activity was Dr. Christopher Fox, the Chief Executive Officer of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR). Prof. Jiefei Shen, Vice Dean of WCSS, chaired the activity.

With enthusiastic applause, Dr. Fox delivered an exceptional lecture on "Meeting the Moment in Global Oral Health Research." He shared groundbreaking advancements in global oral health research and elucidated the pivotal role of IADR in advancing oral and craniomaxillofacial research. Dr. Fox engaged in direct face-to-face communication with students, actively fostering interaction. Patiently replying questions regarding the application of cutting-edge technologies in stomatology and students' growth blueprint, he provided invaluable suggestions and encouragement.

During the activity, Prof. Jiefei Shen provided a concise overview of Hart College's century-long history. This establishment serves as the bedrock of advanced dental education in China and has been passed down through generations. It stands as a testament to the role of WCSS as the birthplace and nurturing ground for modern stomatology in China, encapsulating the memories of countless West China professionals.  Following the activity, Prof. Jiefei Shen presented Dr.Fox with a certificate of appreciation, and group photos were captured to commemorate this memorable moment.
