Bone Research (CN: 51-1745/R, ISSN: 2095-4700) was launched in 2013. As an English-language periodical, Bone Research focuses on the basic and clinical aspects of bone biology, pathophysiology, and regeneration. Bone Research supports the foremost discoveries of basic or clinical studies on bone. The aim of the journal is to foster the worldwide dissemination of research in bone-related physiology, pathology, diseases and treatment.

Bone Research encourages submissions of manuscripts around the world, and strives for rapid review and publication of eligible manuscripts. The editorial board is an international group consisted of distinguished researchers. The Editors-in-Chief is Prof. Xuedong Zhou and Prof. Yunfeng Lin from Sichuan University, the Founding Editor-in-Chief is Prof. Xu Cao from Johns Hopkins University and the Executive Editors-in-Chief are Prof. Thomas L. Clemens from Johns Hopkins University, and Prof. Quan Yuan from Sichuan University. The Associate Editors and the Editorial Board are also composed of top international researchers in the field of bone science.

Bone Research is co-published with Springer Nature, abstracted and indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Medline, PubMed Central (PMC), Scopus, Chemical Abstracts (CA) and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). According to the newly released Impact Factor in 2023, Bone Research ranks No. 2 in Cell & Tissue Engineering in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) category.
