WCSS-Straumann International Clinical Fellowship 

West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University (WCSS) offers a clinical fellowship programme supported by the Straumann Group. The programme provides a scholarship to outstanding international dental clinicians for a fully immersive clinical training experience at WCSS. Participants are expected to enhance their clinical competencies, expand professional networks, and contribute to the advancement of international dental education.

Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Legal Compliance: Comply with all laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and respect Chinese cultural norms and customs.
  2. Professional Qualification: Hold a valid, government-recognized dental/clinical practice license in the home country, with no fewer than 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in dentistry. Applicants must be under 45 years of age.
  3. Academic Integrity: Demonstrate high professional ethics and medical integrity, maintain a proactive learning attitude, and commit to active participation in departmental clinical observations, case discussions, and academic lectures during the fellowship.
  4. Duration of Clinical Training: The clinical training programme lasts between 3 and 6 months. Programmes shorter than 3 months are not eligible.
  5. Tuition Fees: This program charges tuition fees. The program fee is CNY 32,000 per year and charged based on the actual duration of the fellowship.
  6. Priority Consideration: Applications from candidates from Belt and Road Initiative countries will receive preferential review.

Required Application Materials

  1. Completed WCSS-Straumann Scholarship Application Form
  2. Up-to-date English CV highlighting your clinical and academic background
  3. Clear copy of your valid home-country dental practice license
  4. Two signed letters of recommendation (at least one from a senior colleague or academic supervisor in the home country)

Note: Any falsification of application materials will result in immediate disqualification and formal notification to the applicant’s referring institution.

Fellowship Completion Requirement 

All scholarship recipients must submit a de-identified, comprehensive clinical case report​ prior to program completion. The report should clearly reflect the clinical insights and skill development gained during your fellowship at WCSS.

When to Apply 

There are two application rounds per year.
