The teaching platform is national demonstration center for experimental stomatology education, national virtual simulation center for experimental stomatology education, demonstration base for entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as AO CMF fellowship host center. Currently, the center occupies an area of about 8,000 square meters, which can accommodate 800 students for experimental teaching and innovative training at the same time. It undertakes an experimental teaching workload of about 130,000 student hours per year. The experimental teaching center, together with China Museum of Stomatology, the Specimen Museum of Stomatology, State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases, and West China Hospital of Stomatology, forms the Practical Education Platform of West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. In addition to the traditional dental phantom simulators, the center is equipped with internationally advanced virtual simulation dental trainer, digital intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM, dental microscopes, resin/metal 3D printers, robotic patient simulation system, etc. It has formed the preclinical training center of stomatology that integrates morphological experiment platform, manual dexterity skills training platform, situation simulation laboratory, hybrid virtual simulation training platform and online learning platform for clinical critical thinking.
